Many chemical manufacturing processes include steps where a liquid is mixed with a gas and thereafter is vaporized in a heat exchanger. The traditional way of doing this is to inject the liquid in the inlet pipe of the heat exchanger. But this often leads to uneven mixing and, in turn poor process performance and unnecessarily high mechanical stress. A Packinox heat exchanger offers a far better solution thanks to the patented Spray Bar system. Here, the liquid and the gas are mixed inside the heat exchanger by spraying the liquid into the gas as it moves through the unit. This ensures perfect mixing and effective vaporization of the liquid, and, in turn high performance and reliable operation. The homogenous mix and fine droplets make it possible to operate the heat exchanger with a low gas flow which saves energy in the compressor. The Spray Bars are easily removed and reinstalled during cleaning which is usually done during regular turnarounds.
