Technologies such as IoT, 5G, AI
and augmented reality
are placing higher demands on
our IT infrastructure.
More and more data is being created
and that data needs to be processed
faster than ever.
To meet this challenge, new,
decentralized facilities,
known as edge data centers, are being
added to the IT infrastructure.
By providing local processing power,
edge data centers reduce latency to meet
the demands of these new technologies.
Edge data centers are often deployed
in remote, harsh,
and water-scarce environments
creating a greater need for
durability, water-free cooling,
and robust designs.
Alfa Laval recently launched
the Cooling Pod,
a plug-and-play cooling solution
for edge data centers.
This is a 20-foot container that has
all of the components necessary
to deliver cooling for direct-to-chip,
cold-plate, or immersion
cooling applications.
This pre-engineered solution
is extremely energy efficient
and does not use water to cool.
All you need to get up and running
is a power connection
and space to put your container.
The design itself is more robust
than commercial cooling solutions
and it's designed to stand up in the
most challenging environments
with minimal maintenance.
